And while the other PUP ministers might hold the line to save face for their government, Peyrefitte says it's a lot messier than that. In fact, he revisited Courtenay's quote from almost four years ago, when he likened the Barrow's administration to a "panades shop." He today asked the senator whether he likes Briceno's one better. For context, here are Courtenay's original remarks:

SC Eamon Courtney - Attorney for Briceno/Espat

"To put it in plain language the Chief Justice - and these are my words - found that the Prime Minister has been operating the government like a panades shop."

Jules Vasquez:
"He made a very famous riposte when the UDP had lost at the CCJ saying that Mr Barrow was running the country like a panades shop."

Michael Peyrefitte, UDP Senator
"Yes, January 31st, 2020."

Jules Vasquez:
"January 31st, 2020. You have that date etched in…"

Michael Peyrefitte, UDP Senator
"So how did he like this panades shop? How would Eamon Courtenay then make the same, if you're saying that can't take this, he's like Mandela when he first came out of prison after 27 years, went with his wife for nine months, I can't take this. If he's saying that, then Johnny Briceno is running a panades shop."

Jules Vasquez:
"But one that seems to be significantly more greasy than expected."

Michael Peyrefitte, UDP Senator
"Of course, and not even nice. [laughs]"
