And while police moved swiftly to arrest the main suspect in this Christmas eve killing, finding the person who killed today's murder victim will be more challenging.

A teenager was shot to death and dumped in a garbage barrel - and then flung into the river - and was found days later. Jomarie Lanza has details:

Just two days after his family reported him missing, the body of 18 year old Chris Ramos was found inside this very drum that washed up ashore on the river bank bordering the Sarstoon Street area this morning.

Ramos left his mother's home on Christmas eve and never returned. But according to witnesses, the drum in which Ramos was found, had been seen floating in the area for some time:

Voice Of: Witness
"Well I was still in bed when my mom came to hail me and told me the guys found a body down here in a barrel. That was like after six this morning."

"Well when I come outside it wasn't way up like it was more in the water so we could only see pieces of his foot not the whole thing."

Jo- "And you said your mom mentioned that you guys saw the barrel floating from Monday?"

Voice Of: Witness
"Yes from Monday, like Monday morning and i guess it floated here because over here has no seawall so i guess that's why it didn't stop on the other edges."

While Ramos is known to police, ACP Romero told us today that they have not been able to establish a motive behind this cold blooded killing. He notes that Ramos was found with multiple gunshot injuries

ACP Romero, OC Eastern Division
"We are not sure how long that container was in the water, the body has been taken to the morgue awaiting a post Mortem examination."

"He was seen with gunshot injuries."

Jo-
"Multiple gunshot injuries or?"

ACP Romero, OC Eastern Division
"Just gunshot injuries that's all I will say."

Jo-
"Any suspects detained?"

ACP Romero, OC Eastern Division
"We are following several leads. So far no suspects at this time."
