Two Mexican men waved goodbye to their families as they went to jail today.
Alejandro Gonzalez and Carlos Morales who had pleaded guilty to theft of two rental cars from Budget Auto Rental could face serious prison time. The DPP is seeking a prison term for the serious act of theft which has left the rental company in debt of over quarter million dollars.
Justice Pilgrim heard mitigation pleas today and their attorney, Lyndon Jones, asked the court to render Justice with mercy and impose a fine and order the men to pay compensation, while the DPP is seeking a prison term of no less than 10 years plus a fine and compensation.
Justice Pilgrim has deferred sentencing for February 12th.
The Mexicans swindled the dealership out of a 2020 Kia Sorento and a 2021 Chevy Equinox in July of 2023.
