A collision between a Hilux and a parked towhead loaded with sugar cane, claimed the life of one man.

He is 33 year old Narciso Gamboa, a resident of Concepcion village.

On Friday night at 10:30 Gamboa was en route from Concepcion village to San Narciso, when he crashed at mile 73 near Louisville village. His sister told CTV-3 in Spanish that she had seen him earlier that day but doesn't think he was under the influence.

"Honestly i can't say much because we didn't communicate a lot with the police to ask questions but all that they told us was he had a wound here and here and an iron stuck in him. I tried to take a glance at him and they told me he also had a hole in his chest but i wouldn't be able to say because I didn't see him that well. The only thing I can tell you though is yes he was wounded very badly which is why he died instantly."

"Honestly, when he passed my house I didn't see him i didn't notice if he was drunk. That day he passed and I told him to be careful don't be drinking and he told me he won't because they person he is with won't let him drink but only god knows what happened and why he didn't come back. I don't know what happened but unfortunately this accident happened and its something none of us expected."

There was also another fatality in the north. This one happened on Sunday night on Blue Creek Road, where 27 year old Canadian Mennonite Tony Klassen died. Police have not provided details.
