The saga of Cemetery Road continues tonight - and it's still not clear who will just step up and pave this major thoroughfare. As we showed you last week, central government and municipal government are both pointing the finger at each other - and the PM is basically saying, can't we all just find a way to work together?
Today, that's what the mayor was on - though he conceded he and the Minister of MIDH haven't been talking too much:
Jo
"As it involves cemetery road, when we spoke to minister Espat he threw the ball back in your court and said that the city council is the one responsible. And when we spoke to the Pm he said it will have to be something coordinated between central government and city council."
Bernard Wagner, Mayor of Belize City

"Well I am always with my leader and if my leader the honorable prime minister says we will collaborate as an entity along with the ministry of infrastructure along with the Belize tourism board I am all for it. I just want to get the stretch of road fixed for the people."
Jo
"Have you spoken to minister Espat?"
Bernard Wagner, Mayor of Belize City
"No I have not, we have not spoken for some time but we are both in this to serve the people I believe that the minister has his agenda and his priorities. All departments have their priorities, we have our priorities and so it's just about really merging the priorities for the benefit of the people."
We'll let you know when peace breaks out between the fiefdoms.
