Orange Walk police made two major finds in Blue Creek - the first of a kilo of cocaine and the second of a.223 rifle.

They found the kilo yesterday afternoon in a bushy lot in Blue Creek Village. They searched an area known as London where they found a suspected cocaine brick concealed within overgrown grass. The Anti narcotics unit confiscated it and it weighed in at just over a kilo or 2.33 pounds. It was labelled and sealed as found property.

And yesterday morning at 8:00 am that same Anti-Narcotics Unit searched that same London area of Blue Creek and found a black,.223 caliber rifle, BUSHMASTER brand with no serial number. Fitted on the rifle was a 30 round capacity magazine which contained 20 live 5.56 rounds. No-one was in the area so the rifle, magazine and ammunition were taken to Orange Walk Police Station for processing.

Ballistic analysis will be done on the rifle.
