And she's not the only officer who may soon be facing disciplinary charges. Yesterday morning, cops pursued a vehicle from Hattieville to the 4 miles checkpoint, only to discover that the driver of the vehicle was a senior officer. This is a chase where gunshots were reportedly exchanged. The police reacted after they say the man in the truck almost knocked them down.
And while the pursuing cops were responding to what they felt was life threatening aggression, the ComPol said the chase went against the police's policy, and may end up before the Professional Standard Branch.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"Yeah, I know that one officer had said that he was pursued all the way from Hattieville to the four miles checkpoint. And when he arrived at the four miles checkpoint, he stopped to see who was pursuing him, only to find out that it was the police from Hattieville who were pursuing him. The officer is a senior policeman, and to avoid any misconception, the inspector agreed for the officers searched his vehicle in its entirety because he didn't want them to say that they are pursuing him because he was doing something illegal, so he insisted that they search his vehicle, they did so and nothing unusual was found. I had advised the inspector to make a report to PSB and then we're going to look into the matter."
