And the PM was just made aware of the video today. He explained to our colleagues at CTV3 that Belize is a peaceful country, and that type of behavior - exhibited by both the bully and his family - shouldn't be tolerated. He said he has already asked the police department to investigate the matter fully.

John Briceno, Prime Minister

"Actually, I just had a video when I was on my way here and I sent it to the Commissioner and I said I'm sure you probably have seen this but we cannot allow or anybody to be terrorizing innocent people and hard -working people and this kind of behavior is unacceptable and needs to stop and I'm asking the police to do everything possible to deal with these people and get them off the streets."

"If that's the behavior they want to have then they do not belong on the streets, they should not be allowed to be roaming freely. Belize is known as a peaceful country, a peaceful society. Belizeans we are friendly, we are helpful, we help one another and we will not tolerate anyone to be bullying and to threaten any citizen in this country."

"What do you make of this sense of lawlessness given that even after the police involved these people seem hell -bent on you know sort of intimidating the family of the young man who is the victim."

John Briceno, Prime Minister
"Well that has happened because I think for too long we have allowed them to do as they wish and as I said in cabinet on Tuesday we discussed this kind of behavior and we said we're not going to tolerate it, we're going to go after them."

"We cannot allow these people to behave lawless in this country."
