So, you just heard Minister Musa confirm the timeline that the Commissioner put out there: police found out about the hospital invasion when channel 7 reported it on Monday June 10th.
That again contradicts the timeline put out by the Prime Minister who insisted that the government knew about it BEFORE before Jules Vasquez mentioned it in "The Beef". He also insisted that he was the one who told the ComPol, despite Williams admitting he had no knowledge of it prior to the 10th.
One reporter asked PM what he thought about 7News insinuating that there was some sort of "cover up," and Briceno lashed out - calling it "tabloid journalism." He said that when he found out, neither the Ministry of Health nor the police knew, only Channel 7 did, and so we should have done more to help.
John Briceno, Prime Minister
"It's unfortunate though that he says such thing, because he tries to, you know, he's tabloid journalism, he's not really giving the news, because when I found out that I was being informed that that video was not even shared with the police, it was shared with Mr Vasquez."
"And so that's unfortunate. The people at the ministry of health did not know about it. And I think I spoke to the minister a few days ago and he said that that doctor has not gone up to them to talk to them."
"So I told the minister that he needs to call in this doctor and to get what really happened. There's no cover up. We want to deal with these people. And it's unfortunate that Mr Vasquez, who has such a loud voice that would be able to saying these things, he should help us, not make things worse for this country."
To clarify, our newsroom did not receive any video from the doctors at SICH. Additionally, as we have reported, a meeting was held with Dr Jorge Polanco, the Deputy Director of Health Services, on June 4th - three days after the incident elapsed, when the Ministry of Health was made aware of what transpired.
