Last week we told you about Khader Habet, the man who claimed that police had searched his home over a dozen times in two months. He alleges that he isn't involved in criminal activity, however, ASP Aaron Gamboa told us that he has ties to the drug world and neighbors have complained that he sells drugs out of his home. Habet flatly denies this and says he has a trade license to sell rolling papers and hemp products.

Today the ComPol doubled down though, and said that they will continue to go after Habet if it means keeping the residents of San Ignacio and Santa Elena safe.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"Over the past few months we have seen a number of major incidents in the San Ignacio/Santa Elena area, so much so that even your news director was extremely critical of the police, particularly the OC and as a department, we have taken a serious stand to do our best to restore that sense of safety to the people of San Ignacio/Santa Elena and as a part of that, as the Commissioner of Police, I have given directions to my officers in terms of what I want to see them do to make the good people of San Ignacio/Santa Elena feel safe."

"And so when it comes to the young man, Habet, what he failed to say to the media is that he is in this area where police operations in the past and even recently had led to the discovery of large number of drugs and a number of firearms hidden in the lot right beside him. We know how most of these people in the criminal world operate, because they know the police is going to targeted them and coming to their homes to search, they're not going to be hiding these items in their yard or in their homes, they would hide it next door so that if the police find it, they would not be able to tie it to them. Our intelligence have told us many things where he is concerned and he is a person of interest to us in that area and so the police is going to continue to go to him. If he feels like going to the media and complaining is going to have the police back down from him that is not going to happen. I have said to the SPU that operates in the San Ignacio/Santa Elena area as well as the police in San Ignacio/Santa Elena, that I want them to keep constant pressure on those persons who live to make the lives of our law abiding people miserable."
