A man is on remand tonight after he was accused of robbing a truck driver on Central American Boulevard at gunpoint. While there were two suspects, police have so far charged 24 year old Tyrese Usher. This morning, he was represented by attorney Leroy Banner in court as he was arraigned on a single charge of robbery. He pleaded not guilty but due to the nature of the charge, he was denied bail and remanded until September 30th.
The incident occurred last Wednesday while the truck driver was delivering a cheque. The two men rode up to the truck and demanded the driver's his money bag, which contained approximately $8,000 in cash and a cheque for $25,000. After the robbers escaped, police were able to identify Usher with the use of surveillance footage, and he was detained the same day. The other suspect remains at large.
