In other news, last year, the CCJ Academy for Law held the 7th annual conference in Needham's Point, Barbados which saw participation from stakeholders all across the criminal justice system. The outcome of the conference was a declaration which is aimed at providing a road map for the reformation of the system. According to the Director of Public Prosecutions who appeared on Sunup on 7 this morning, one of the priority areas is to reduce the backlog of cases and the time that accused persons spend awaiting the outcome of their trial.
