And while we had him there, we asked the former ComPol his thoughts on the fight that left a 19 year old dead, allegedly at the hands of a police officer. But Williams is leaving that topic for the current commissioner to handle.

"I would not want to comment much on that issue. I believe that what needs to be done is to look at both sides. I see people are very quick to condemn the police and some are quick to condemn the youths so there's a debate in terms of what actually transpired but I yield to what the commissioner of police has said that the police are looking at it and trying as best as they can to uncover whatever evidence that exists. That will either show if the police officers were at fault or not so I think it's best that we leave it like that and let the investigation speak for itself."
The police have still not brought charges in this case and say they are are waiting on the advice of the DPP.
