And the whole debacle had caused some tension between Williams and successor, Richard Rosado. But today, Williams said it's water under the bridge and that he communicates with Dr Rosado regularly.
Chester Williams, CEO, Ministry of Transport
"I spoke to the commissioner on a regular basis and as I have said to him, him being the commissioner of police and I being the CEO in this ministry, there's a need for us to work together. Road safety is a major concern for our Belizean people and both the police and the transport department do have a responsibility of making sure that our highways are safe and so if you move around the country, you'll see that there are more coordinated highway patrols and checkpoints with police and DOT officers so we communicate regularly and there's respect between both of us so there's no animosity, there's no qualms, I'm sure he knows how I felt about what took place at the academy and I have put that behind me and we move on."
