The second bust happened 2 weeks later, only this time it involved over 100 pounds of high grade marijuana, and the accused smuggler is a senior citizen from Orange Walk Town.
He was reportedly driving an SUV which Customs in Corozal intercepted at a checkpoint. The marijuana - contained in boxes and declared as "cosmetics" - has a street value over a million dollars. He was carrying an invoice for cosmetics, but when customs opened the boxes and moved the packaging around they found a pungent strain of high grade marijuana.
Commissioner Rosado gave us more details.

Dr Richard Rosado, Commissioner of Police
"On the 12th of July about 9:00pm at the northern border checkpoint police responded to a customs request where a vehicle driven at the time by 70 year old Eric Hall Duaney was searched which led to the discovery of 133 pounds of high grade cannabis. Duaney was subsequently arrested and charged for possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply to another."
