But while Faber wasn't allowed at the meeting, the UDP's current party leader, Shyne Barrow, was there. He explained that the resolution still carried and that the party is now getting ready for their national convention. Well, he explained that to the other reporters at the scene because - as he showed us on Saturday - he "doesn't give interviews to Channel 7." Here's how it went down.

"Patrick Faber came in and disrupted the meeting. Quite unfortunate, but the motion still carried that October 5th 2025 is the date for the national convention and everyone will be reinstated and be made a member in good standing except Patrick Faber."

"Just now we spoke to Mr Faber and he said that is impossible."

"He could say whatever he wants, but you're asking me as the duly elected party leader what just happened and I'm telling you what happened."
Reporter:
"So are you prepared to hand over the party to the respective persons?"

"Whoever wins the national convention will succeed me as leader."
Courtney Menzies:
"Ms Panton has been asking for a revision of the list - are you walking away from me, sir?"
Reporter:
"I wanted to ask you why not just remove Mr Faber from the meeting so that you could have continued."

"We didn't want anyone to physically assault the colleague from Collet."
"This gentleman was just arrested and charged for assaulting a police. Again, everyone is wrong. He was arrested and charged in 2022 for assaulting someone with a hammer then we saw a video he head butted the same person. Everyone can't be wrong and it can't be that the party moves forward with these types of tumors."
Panton has announced via Facebook that the UDP Parliamentarian Caucus will be having a press conference tomorrow afternoon.
She also stated, quote, "We will not sit back and allow our shared values to be highjacked or for our Party's Constitution to be blatantly disregarded. There must always be inclusion, fair play and adherence to our governing principles. Whenever the current Leadership Executive is ready to do the right thing and do things the right way we will be here ready to participate. In the meantime, we will focus on the national issues, holding this corrupt BLU PUP government accountable." End quote.
