But even with the hassle that comes with traveling for hours, the team played their best and brought him a silver medal. Codd said that they were satisfied with their performance.

"We made history, we haven't placed second in a long time. This is the first time the Belize National Men's Team has placed second since 2000 and so this is definitely good for us, we're moving up. We were definitely the top team there, Guatemala literally just snuck away with the gold medal. We went to a thrilling 5th set and they won 15-12 and so we were competing and this was, for us, a very acceptable second place and we celebrate it because it's a step up for us from the bronze medal. we know what we're capable of doing and we're bringing back that silver medal, that second place trophy to celebrate with our people back home."
Codd announced that this was his final game as part of the national men's team.
