Robbers in the south almost made off with $1000 in cash.

A Naybaz store was robbed in Dangriga over the weekend by an armed trio of men. A customer was also shot and injured during the incident. ACP Hilberto Romero gave us more details today.

"On Friday police responded to a robbery at neighbours store in Dangriga and upon arrival they learned the store had been robbed by three male persons. There were three females at the store and one customer. There was a struggle between the customer and the robbers where the customer was shot he was identified as Ashton Bodden and he received gunshot injuries to the hand. A quick police response led to the detention of one suspect they fled in a vehicle and several other persons ran off from the vehicle. An investigation was carried out and since then Tyreese Steven has been arrested and charged for 3 counts of robbery and one count of use of deadly means of harm. The victim is receiving treatment at the KHMH and is in a stable condition. We are seeking three other suspects in regard to the investigation. Recovered was the vehicle used in the robbery and $1000 from the robbery."
