A woman was murdered last night in Spanish Lookout, allegedly by her brother-in-law. 20 year old Claritza Rodriguez, a Honduran national, was stabbed 7 times to her abdomen and throat at a lumber yard on Center Road. Reports are that Rodriguez lived at that location with her common-law husband, her father in law, and her two brothers in law, all of whom are also from Honduras. Around 9:00 last night, Rodriguez and her common law husband, 21 year old Edgar Gavanette, took their speaker out to the veranda to play music. That's when her brother in law, a 24 year old man, came outside and asked them to stop because he was tired and needed to rest. The three of them got into an argument, which turned physical. The siblings' father intervene and was trying to restrain Gavanette, but that's when his brother grabbed a knife and stabbed Rodriguez.
Gavanette, his father, and his 17 year old brother were then taken to the police station. The police issued a wanted poster earlier for 24 year old Eris Gavanette, who is a person of interest. Later this evening, the police reported that he is in their custody.
