
And in other news, yesterday saw the first round of consultations on the 13th amendment. As we told you, sectors such as the Association of Defense Attorneys, the NGOs, the Human Right Commission, and other oppose the bill, saying that it will inherently strip the rights of those who are targeted during SOEs.
While he was not in attendance, we asked the Minister of Constitutional Affairs to share his views, and here's what he had to say.

"So the consultation yesterday was very important I think that the minister who is responsible attended that meeting and are gathering the information and when we come back to cabinet then we will look at that so that was a very very important exercise so that people across the country get the opportunity to express how they feel right because that really at the end of the day what is most important is really how the Belizean people feel about this proposed amendment."
