Police are investigating a frightening home invasion that occurred early Monday morning at Marla's House of Hope in Roaring Creek Village.

Around 5:30 a.m., two masked men entered the property. They carried handguns and grabbed a female caregiver, ordered her to be quiet, and told her to take them to the other caregiver - a male. Under duress, she did so and the men then forced him to show them the rooms where the children were sleeping.

During the invasion, the armed intruders repeatedly asked for someone by name, but the caregiver told them that no one with that name was at the facility. After their fruitless search, the men fled. No one was injured. Police believe the suspects are of Hispanic descent.

We did go to the House of Hope today but they declined an interview, saying the matter is too sensitive. The facility describes itself as providing, quote, "safe, loving, nurturing care for…Children who have been removed from an abusive environment."
