There was a shooting in the city over the weekend but the victim managed to disarm his shooter during the attack. ACP Romero told us how it happened.
ACP Hilberto Romero, OC Eastern Division:
"On Sunday around 5:30 Am police responded to a shooting incident on Central American Boulevard and upon their arrival they learned that a male person had been shot. He was identified as Wayne Welch and was taken to the KHM for treatment. Investigations reveal that Welch was at Central American Boulevard when two persons came there on a motorcycle. One came off and fired shots and there was a struggle between Wayne Welch and the person firing the shots and the person firing the shots was disarmed by Welch and he took possession of the weapon. Police responded and located the Weapon and we have one person in Custody in regards to this investigation."
