He Tried To Shoot A Man But Victim Wrested His Gun Away

Police have charged the gunman who allegedly shot 24-year-old Wayne Welch near Central American Boulevard on Sunday. He is 23-year-old, Mark Jackson, who was taken to court today and read charges for attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm and grievous harm. He appeared unrepresented in court before Magistrate Ludlow Black but because it is a firearm offence, no plea was taken from him. Jackson was denied bail and remanded to the Belize Central Prison until October 30th.

On Sunday 24-year-old, Wayne Welch was shot by a man on motorcycle. He managed to grab the shooter and wrest away his firearm - a 38 pistol which police recovered later.
