The Belize Premier Basketball League held its All Star Kids Camp today in the city. They invited youths to come out for a few hoop sessions and learn from the pros. Point Guard Victor Evans gave us more details on the event.

Victor Evans, Point Guard:
"I do a lot of camps in America so I decided it would be a no brainer to do a big one another one for any and everybody in Belize to come down to it's free the age is 5-15 so basically if we can get the ball through the basket you are invited I brought the idea to Dr Gordon and Dr Flowers, and they loved it so we are here we got it together so hopefully you know it is the first of many."

"So today is the only day for the camp but yeah we are going to break them down in age group and skills, we are going to be teaching a lot of different things like passing and shooting, ball handling, even agility drills and basically we just want to make sure the kids have as much fun as possible and they also learn in the process."

"I believe basketball is like a sport that, the sport in general it brings people together it causes a lot of joy and excitement so the more people playing the more kids we get into the game the more I feel like the more productive they will be so that is the goal to have kids really dive into sports and you know have that be their focus and have them outside active and not on iPads."

All the kids who participated left with a certificate.

The camp was part of All Star Week which culminates onFriday night with the All Star game as well as the Dunk content and Three Point shootout.
