A resident of Hattieville was killed in Santa Cruz Cayo District last night after he allegedly showed up armed at a police man's house and started shooting. It happened at around midnight - and when 27 year old Darnell Arnold started shooting. As he was trying to escape, someone from inside the house fired back and killed him.
But what was 27 year old Darnell Arnold doing so far away from his home in Hattieville village? That's what the police are trying to find out. ACP Hilberto Romero told us what they knew.

"At 10:15 PM last night, Police responded to a shooting Incident in Santa Elena in the Cayo district and upon their arrival they saw the lifeless body of a male person who was later identified as Deandre Arnold of Hattieville village. A complainantt reported that he was at home along with his family members when he heard several gunshots fired towards his house. He opened his window to check what was happening, and at which point he saw a male person firing shots towards his house. And he then pulled out a firearm and fired a single shot at the person who was firing at his house, causing the fatal injuries to the person. We are conducting a thorough investigation in this matter at the conclusion of this investigation the file will be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions for directives."

Police have recovered a 40 caliber Glock pistol and a shotgun from the scene.
Best reports suggest that the police officer whose home was targeted is under investigation for his role in causing a man's death.
As Romero mentioned, the deceased is no stranger to police. He spent 5 years on remand in connection to the murder of Philmore King in June of 2018.
