And, there was another fatal traffic accident in Cayo - this one outside Esperanza. It happened early on Saturday morning - when Danny Mai was hit by what police say was likely a drunk driver.
His mother Shirley Mai is a well known village councillor in Blackman Eddy and she's speaking out tonight:
On Saturday morning, Danny Mai was exiting Esperanza village on his motorcycle when he was hit by this Toyota Corolla.

"Around 4.30am police responded to a fatal road traffic accident at mail 64 on the George Price Highway."
"Upon arrival, they saw a damaged Toyota Corolla car and a e-motorcycle. The driver of the car was identified as Kyle Vasquez and the driver of the motorcycle was identified as Danny Mai. Danny Mai received injuries to his body. He was taken for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries."
For his mother, Shirly who had already lost a daughter to murder - it is a devastating loss of a son who followed the rules of the road:

"Danny was a law and order person. If that bike no have license, Danny would never go on that bike. If the bike no have insurance, Danny no go on that bike. If I would tell him, Danny give me a ride, ma you have helmet, no I no have. Well sorry I can't give you a ride. That's the kind of person Danny was."
And that's why she knows he was not in the wrong:

"San Ignacio police better start to get their act together and do what they need to do and let me get justice in my son."
"He was 34 years old. He was my oldest, my first belly pain and it's not going to left like that. That was my belly pain and I will fight for my justice for my son and I don't care what they want to say about me after this. So they better give me justice in my son, I want justice in my son."
And police have reached the same conclusion:

"Kyle Vasquez has since been arrested and charged for a failed to provide specimen and drove motorvehicle without due kind attention."
"Yes it is suspected he was under the influence of alcohol so he was charged."
Police say they are waiting for the result of a urine sample to determine the alcohol level.
