And while the police has dismissed Budna's insistence that he was kidnapped by cops - the Compol was a little bit more elliptical about another of Budna's claims.
Budna had sensed he was being followed from the day before he was kidnapped and says he reported the particulars of the vehicle that was following him to the Compol:

"Now you said that a vehicle had been trailing you from the day before and you gave the O.C. for Orange Walk the particulars of this vehicle. What was the description of that vehicle?"

"Yes, I sent it to Mr. Dubon, the officer in charge of Orange Walk formation. The vehicle did not have license plate. Thereafter it appears with Belize City license plate. And again I reported it to commanding officer Dubon and I told him that vehicle is now parked in front of Tipsy Bite. Tipsy Bite that is located in the Cinderella street in Orange Walk town where you can get footage yourself. You know, it was there on Thursday night if I'm not mistaken."

"Has there been any specific conversation with Mr. Dubon, the officer commanding for Orange Walk, if the allegation is true which Budna claims that he sent him all the particulars of this of the vehicle the abductors were in?"

"That was not communicated to me by Mr. Dubon and I'm sure if that was communicated, if he had that information that would have communicated to me or my operational commander and that was not communicated to us."
Because police officers are at the center of the accusations - and there is independent evidence to also suggest this - 7News will continue to push for an independent investigation. We are also calling for the release of surveillance video from the Treasury Department and the Natural Resources offices in Orange Walk - whose security cameras would have picked up the abduction.
