Tonight a man is accused of raping a minor but we can't share his name or show you who he is because he allegedly did it to his own daughter.
A 17 year old from the Belize District told police that her father had touched her inappropriately in a sexual manner in July before he raped her at their home on the day school opened.
Today at his arraignment, the father, a 43-year-old Farmer who is originally from Punta Gorda who could not tell the court his date of birth only his agenda was read two offenses, rape and sexual assault. No plea was taken.
The police prosecutor objected strenuously to bail being granted because the accused is the victim's father. When asked why he should be granted bail, the father said he does not understand the meaning of that, nor did he understand the charge of rape. Magistrate Mannan Dennison denied the bail.
