A high-profile gang figure was targeted on a busy street this morning - and it happened right after he left the magistrate's court on Coney drive. Jareem Staine appeared in Magistrate's Court for an attempted murder charge, but the case was adjourned. He left the court in a Chevy Equinox but a few hundred feet away near the speed bump by Milky Way Restaurant two men on motorcycle pulled up beside his moving vehicle and one of them opened fire. Staine accelerated and escaped unhurt - while the motorcycle tandem fled. And while it caused a scare in the area which has residential properties, schools, businesses and a constant flow of traffic, no one was injured.
23 year old Staine is a leader of one of the factions of a major gang in the Martin's area.
