And now in news of non fatal accidents….

Surveillance videos from the past two days in the city - and not shining a favourable light on the police. The first happened on the 9th night - when a cyclist was making a left turn - and a speeding motorcycle zoomed into view and crashed into the man on bicycle sending him flying to the pavement. Now this happened right in front of a manned police checkpoint on Central American Boulevard - within 10 feet of the officers - who just watched the aftermath of the accident - and were in no rush to render any aid to the men who lay injured before them.

And, in another less than stellar episode, a surveillance camera caught a reversing police truck coming out of the lane right beside the San Pedro. Belize Express terminal. The reversing officer didn't see a man crossing the street and ran right over him. For his part, the man was also looking in the next direction. The police fanned him and he did recover consciousness within a few seconds.
