Police Department Mourning Officer Who Died After Hit And Run

On Friday we told you about the death of San Ignacio Police Woman, PC Karen August, a mother of two who died 12 days after she was injured in a hit and run. We asked ACP Romero about it today and he says that the charges against the driver will be upgraded.

"In regards to that accident the charges will be upgraded sometime this week."

"It is a big loss for the police department. We send our sincere condolences to the family members. An investigation was carried out and one person was charged."

31-year-old driver Dijon McNab already faces a number of charges including Failed to Stop and Render Aid and Failed to Report an Accident. Manslaughter and related charges are now expected to be added to that list.
