We all know what a wet and stormy September it's been and tonight, NEMO has been forced to even put out an advisory warning the public about more rain and possible floods. We'll get to that in a minute.
We start tonight in Orange Walk, at the Indian Creek Mennonite Colony, where a freak storm tore through early this morning, ripping roofs off barns, snapping coconut trees, and killing several head of cattle with lightning strikes.
These pictures show the damage done with zinc roofs peeled back, and structures badly damaged all across the community. We are also told that multiple cattle were struck by lightning and died.
The Ministry of Agriculture said it just received word today - and will be sending a team to the community tomorrow. Area Rep Jose Mai told us, quote, yes, that's common. Excessive rainfall, pastures are under water."
