It took police more than three months to bring charges, but 34-year-old nightclub manager, Khris Rosado went to court in handcuffs today, in the back of a police mobile - charged for a fatal road traffic accident that claimed the life of police constable Arcenio Cus in late July.
Rosado appeared before a Magistrate in Court #5 in the presence of his attorney, Doctor Lynden Jones where he was read five traffic offenses: one count of manslaughter by negligence, one count of causing death by careless conduct, one count of drove motor vehicle without due care and attention, one count of fail to report an accident and one count of fail to stop and render aid.
No plea was taken from Rosado and there was no objection to bail by the Prosecutor, so he received bail in the sum of $6,000 dollars and his next court date was set for January 6, 2026.
The accident occurred around 1:25 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025, between Miles 6 and 7 on the Phillip Goldson Highway.
Initial investigations revealed that PC Cus was traveling southbound from Ladyville to Belize City on a motorcycle when the fatal accident occurred.
It was first ruled a hit and run, but later that same day, Rosado voluntarily visited the Ladyville Police Station. However, authorities say he refused to cooperate with the investigation.
