Tonight, a female police officer remains hospitalized following a violent stabbing incident. Her attacker is alleged to be her partner - who is a Coast Guard officer. When we asked police about it today they- would not release even the name of the victim but told us that they have one person detained:

"On Monday, 24th November 2025 at approximately 5:00 am, police were alerted via the control room of an ongoing domestic dispute at a residence on Gibnut Street, Belize City. The officers proceeded to that location and upon their arrival, they were advised by a male occupant of that property that his common law wife was in the room. Police officers were led to that room, where they observed a female with several apparent stab wounds to her body and in a semi-conscious state. She was immediately transported to the Memorial Hospital, where she remains, now in a stable condition."
"Yes, a male person has been detained in relation to this incident."
