A police officer who was at a Benque Viejo nightclub as a patron was knocked unconscious in an altercation. It happened on Sunday morning at 3:45 am in front of Los Okis Club. Corporal Wilbert Cob is attached to the Belize City CIB office but lives in Benque Viejo. Reports say he was physically assaulting his female companion - and other men got involved to try and get him off her. He is seen in this video wrestling the woman in a chokehold - while others tried to pull him away. He fights them as they do so and that's when the knockout punch was delivered with a straight right cross.
There is no word yet on whether he will press charges or if charges will be brought against him. The man who punched him claims he was acting in self defence and in defence of the woman.
