Joseph Budna spent the Christmas and New Year holidays still in a Guatemala City prison. Back here in Belize, no one has been charged for his kidnapping. But while surveillance footage clearly showed him being carried away by law enforcement personnel, that video was leaked to 7News.
But, the question of whether the surveillance videos should have simply been released by the department is still one being asked - and yesterday the media sought an opinion from the former ComPol.

"I will not comment on that, that is a matter for the Commissioner of Police to deal with to decide whether or not he believes the footage should be released to the public and so I'll leave it at that."

"But it should be released to the DPP, correct?"

"I would like to think that if the DPP does get a file, the file should be accompanied by the video footage yes."
