On Friday we told you that police had charged a 25 year old Camalote resident for the murder of Mark Gabourel, an employee of Caribbean Chicken Belmopan. We asked ASP Smith for more details today as to whether a 2nd person is expected to be charged.

"As a consequence of the investigation into the murder of Mark Anthony Gabourel that occurred on Wednesday 7th January 2026 on Friday 9th January 2026 police formally arrested and charged 25 year old Wilhem Coye a Belizean laborer of Camalote village Cayo district for the crime of murder. A second person is in police custody in relation to this incident and the public will be advised as to the status of the investigation in relation to that person in due course."
