And when interrogated on the Briceno family members being part owners of the companies up for acquisition, the Minister was super cautious and proved that he has a firm grasp of what's being reported nightly in the news:

Kareem Musa, Minister of Immigration, Labour, and Governance

"I have seen the Prime Minister on numerous occasions actually say that he's not an owner of the company. His family owns the company, I believe, Centaur, and has shares in Speednet. And so the Prime Minister has actually recused himself. in terms of discussing this matter. But that is not to say that his family does have an interest in it. I believe his brother Jaime and his cousin have an interest in the companies."

Reporter
"Your initial reaction to Centaur and CTI seemingly pulling out of this deal?"

Kareem Musa, Minister of Immigration, Labour, and Governance
"Well, from what I understand, they are not pulling out because of the details of the transaction. They believe, and BTL believes, it's a good transaction for the benefit of BTL and for the benefit of Belize. I believe it is more because of the reputational burdens. I believe that's what is referred to in the letter. And so that doesn't say anything about the transaction itself, the merits or demerits of it.it. And so that is what they have provided in their release."
