A 36-year-old man from the Red Creek area of Santa Elena was found dead inside his home early this morning, and police have detained his common-law wife. Around 5:21 this morning, police were called to a residence in Red Creek, where they found Leonard Pandy lying face-up on a mattress in his home. His mother, Emma Clarke, told investigators that her son had injured his lower back last week after falling.
Pandy's common-law wife, told police she last saw him alive last night before going to sleep. She said that when she checked on him around 5:00 a.m., he was unresponsive. Notably, doctors saw what looked like hot water burns or scald marks on Pandy's feet and legs. The Mother Emma Clarke believes that it was foul play:

"Well this morning, Joanna, the girl that he lives with, she come wake up she come hail me and said Miss Em, I said what happened and she said I want to see you and I said for what, she said, I think Lenny is dead, he is stiff. I told her what then I hurry jump out of my bed and I saw Lenny is on the floor stiff on the mattress face up with his eye open."
"Night before I heard they were quarreling because they live in a relationship always quarreling, police always come here and she used to say it, that one of these times she will kill him in his sleep."
His common law wife has been detained for questioning.
