Today, the Arthurs family of Ontario marked a grim milestone: it has been 50 days since their daughter and mother, Deborah Bree Arthurs, went missing, and they still have no answers regarding her whereabouts.

A written statement prepared by the father two days ago says,

"To date, the family has not received a proper briefing from the Belize Police Department regarding the developments of the investigation, other than being told that the case is "ongoing." Bree was in possession of an iPhone 13 at the time of her disappearance, yet no information has been provided as to whether the phone was traced or whether her phone records were reviewed to assist in the investigation.

For the past 48 days, an 11-year-old child has been asking: "I wonder where mommy is and what she's doing."

He has undergone several therapy sessions; however, his emotional state remains deeply affected. At times he cries, at times he cannot sleep, and he no longer wants to socialize like a normal child. The emotional scars caused by not knowing what happened to his mother may remain with him forever.

Bree's family has conducted numerous searches throughout the Belize District and Belmopan in hopes of finding closure. Even if all that remains is a bag of bones that can be laid to rest with dignity, the family would be grateful to finally bring her home.

Despite cameras being placed across our country, families are still left with unanswered questions and are often made to feel like criminals simply for seeking answers about their loved ones. Public confidence in the system continues to decline, and many citizens are afraid to speak out.

At this time, Bree's family continues to pray for closure and is appealing to anyone who may know something to come forward and speak up, it could be your family facing the same nightmare.

If you know something, say something." End quote.

Desperate for answers, the family has appealed directly to the Commissioner of Police and the Minister of Home Affairs, pleading for more urgency in the investigation.
