Tonight while a mother prepares to bury one of her sons she is also fighting to get another out of jail to attend his brother's funeral. We spoke with Helen Samuels today, the mother of the deceased Jamal Samuels who was murdered in the Martin's area last week. She explained that after his death one of her sons was detained and not released because of the SOE. Now, she wants to get him out to attend her other son's funeral, but it's costing her, and she believes this is unfair.
Helen Samuels, Mother of Deceased, Jamal Samuels

"Well they shot my son last week Thursday night and from they shot my son they picked up my next son, they picked up my next son and they said they held him for 48 hours for crime prevention. They held him for 48hours he spent his 48 hours. When I thought they would let go my son, they didn't let go my son they run it right into the SOE when we went to see him it was a lot of problems they took him and said they have him for an SOE and he is going to jail. They took him to jail and they said I need a lawyer to get him out to make him go to the funeral. I found a lawyer and got him out to go to the funeral now they are coming and telling me I need to pay the police $400 for them to escort him to the funeral. For what? For what I have to find money? I already have to find money to bury my son already now I have to find money to deal with my son alive that is alive, my son hasn't commit any crime. His record is clean for me to have to be going through this again with those police. I think this is unfair what they are doing to me it is unfair because if my son did I crime then I can understand but my son hasn't done a crime."
Samuels has already lost two sons.
