And it's been almost three weeks since the bus operators paralyzed the north by blocking the Phillip Goldson Highway in Orange Walk. But since then, as we have reported, the BBA and the Ministry of Transport have settled their differences. We asked BBA president Phillip Jones about it.

"I believe so, I feel like the communication was misinterpreted by both sides and we had several meetings and we have ironed those things out and we can see the intention on both parties to improve the service and to better the service for the commuters and it's a sheer effort on the government and operators part to ensure that the commuters weren't being overburdened by the price hence the reason why the subsidy was given to offset the high cost in the increase by the bus operators so we have a very cordial relationship and we communicate daily and we're grateful for that."
