Tonight, Shane Gilharry, a senior member of the Gilharry 7 Band, is accused of attempting to abduct two minor-aged girls.

Their mother confronted him about it in a Facebook video, which led to the band issuing a statement. In the statement they said, "On behalf of Gilharry 7, we would like to extend our deepest and sincerest apologies to the family and the young girls affected by the recent incident involving former band member Shane Gilharry. We are devastated and deeply concerned by the allegations and understand the fear, pain, and emotional distress this situation may have caused. No family or child should ever have to experience something like this…Several months ago, Shane Gilharry was relieved from the band due to ongoing misconduct, unprofessional behavior, and concerns that had arisen within the group. ….We also want to acknowledge that Shane is currently struggling with serious mental health issues, and efforts are being made to ensure he receives the professional help and support he needs." Today police said that even though no formal report has been made, the mother did visit the station.

"I spoke with Commander Corozal Police Formation, Mr. Mendez, and his instruction to me was that no formal report was made in terms of a statement being given by the female and the children in question. He did, in fact, admit that she went there on a day in question. However, I believe she was still overcome with emotion so they were not able to document anything. He told me that they have since been making efforts to locate the female and the children with a view to recording the statements and taking necessary actions."
