He may be most known as the 22 year old who was lost his life under questionable circumstances in march of this year. And while the circumstances of his death is a flashpoint, his family wants his legacy to be more than just a nagging reminder of how difficult it cane be to establish a case of homicide and not suicide. And it's in respect to the legacy of this once active and engaged young artist that the image factory has staged a retrospective. As we found out, his art career may only have spanned 7 years, but as Curator Gilvano Swasey noted, those were years marked by the distinction of a fearless trailblazer.

Gilvano Swasey, Image Factory
"Its actually what you call a retrospective of this artist's work, Eder Martin Alamilla. Its basically trying to document the process that he went through in his artistic life so it has two roles: paying homage to him since he has passed away but also he was not just a regular person he was a artist, he contributed to the community not just through his work but through art camps that he had."

The Eder Alamilla retrospective opens tomorrow night at the Image Factory.
