On June 27th, 8 CARICOM countries will be represented in Belize. No it's not a CARICOM Heads of Government meeting. It's a pageant. St. Mary's primary school is organizing a pageant called Miss CARICOM and they are doing so to raise funds to assist in the school's general maintenance programs. We stopped by as the 8 girls of St. Mary's Primary School were preparing for their show single market and economy style.

Beatrice Geban, Teacher at St. Mary's School
We are having the pageant as part of our fundraising for general maintenance
of the school. The pageant is a first for St. Mary's Primary School. We have eight contestants. They are representing different CARICOM countries. This year we want to do something different and also well we believe that our students have talents so we want to show the different talents."
The pageant is scheduled for Tuesday June 27th at 6:30 at the Bliss Center for the Performing Arts.
