Tonight we note the passing of former Director of Geology and petroleum Evadne Wade-Garcia. The 56-year-old Wade-Garcia died yesterday as a result of complications of cancer. Wade had retired from the public service earlier this year after serving for 20 years. She will be buried on Saturday at St. Anne's Anglican Church in Belmopan at 3. Wade-Garcia was considered a pioneer of geological science in Belize and was a steadfast believer that there was oil in commercial quantities to be found here.
