"We are Belize!" - Frankie Reneau's composition to commemorate Belize's 25th anniversary. It played on two nights to rave reviews and standing ovations at the Bliss Center. But beyond the lengthy applause and the gushing commendations were over 90 Belizean musicians, vocalists and arrangers who spent thousands of hours putting it together.

Indeed while "We Are Belize" may be praised for its accomplishment, more outstanding was its ambition: to put so many disparate talents together on a stage and record that live for posterity. We'll have to wait for the final, mastered product to see if it all came together on tape as much as it did on the stage but until then we continue to marvel at the ambition, the labor and the difficulty of putting it all together.

That was documented in a special feature put together for NICH by Carla Ayres and Dennis Peyrefitte. Tonight we share with you a slightly abridged version of that, to give you a look inside the making of "We Are Belize." See the video of the inside look by clicking here: On Demand.

And if you want to see the concert itself, you'll have to wait just a bit. Presently, sound engineers are editing the sound recordings from the live concerts and once that is finished, that sound will be laid unto a DVD which NICH will offer for sale.
