And while the day of the dead has deep cultural and religious significance, well Halloween, that's a whole other story! It is a about as religious as a handful of sweets and about as cultural as American Idol. But, make no mistake, in this city, Halloween "da di ting!" We took to the streets last night and found that it was scary, in more ways than one.

Jules Vasquez Reporting,
Mobs of trick or treaters swarmed the city last night, even babies got in on the costume brigade - old and with costumes both inventive and invented, home-made and factory finished, some scary and some funny. Some though, didn't need a mask while others had two masks. And others, played the part of real vampires as they shied away from the bright lights of the camera. But most trick or treaters we encountered weren't shy - about chanting their demands at grocery stores and residences. One homeowner who invited them in is Stanley Lizama. His house was decked out in a full Halloween theme.

Stanley Lizama,
"This is something that I like and I love it because I like the kids come out and smile and everybody enjoy themselves."

And on this night, Lizama had it right, Halloween in Belize is about the show of it all.
