The DFC Commission of inquiry's public hearings have been suspended indefinitely because Chairman David Price has been hospitalized. Price was admitted to the KHMH this morning suffering from ailments related to kidney failure. His poor condition was apparent to observers at yesterday's hearings, where he appeared short of breath, and visibly weakened.
Price's condition has been a worry from the Commission was appointed as he has heart and kidney problems. And while doctors have advised him that the extended sittings of the hearings and the associated stress do not help his condition, he has continued. Today, a relative told us tests were being conducted and they'll have a clearer idea of what he plans to do when doctors review those results.
Pending price's medical prognosis, the hearings are planned for completion in November, the month in which a cavalcade of DFC stars are to appear before the DFC commission. The lineup includes David Novelo, Arnaldo 'Papi' Pena, Glen Godfrey, former finance minister Ralph Fonseca and Prime Minister Said Musa.
