The Caribbean Women in Leadership Network has established a new Belizean Chapter. The membership organization is a non-political, multi-partisan group and represents women from all spheres of life, with the common objective of enabling and empowering women to participate equally in leadership and decision-making.

Its Belizean chapter, which is the 6th in the Caribbean was established on November 27th, 2020, starts out with an initial group of 75 women as members from across Belize and the diaspora.

And this brand new network chapter has a brand new chairperson. She's a former Senator and former FCD board member, Valerie Woods. Woods will head an executive committee elected to serve a 2-year inaugural term.

CIWiL has active national chapters in Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, St Kitts, and Nevis, St Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago.

The Story of Shalai

Pharaoh King, he's the L.A. based Belizean born brukdown artist. But he's also a storyteller and that's what he's doing with his new 10 song album "Dugu Nani" a celebratory 10 song album that he says will have you "dancing, singing, and laughing from the stories revealed in each song."

And this afternoon via zoom he spoke to Cherisse Halsall about the album's first single "Shalai Baby" and the music video that sees him brought to heel by his own granny on the Maury Povich show.

And Pharaoh King says that all his music is available for free on Youtube. But if you'd like to support him and the Brukdown genre his songs are also streaming on every major platform.
